What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a form of exercise that uses a specialised machine called a Reformer. It involves a series of controlled movements designed to improve strength, flexibility, and stamina.  Come and discover your new fitness obsession!

Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?

Yes absolutely! Reformer Pilates is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, including beginners. Our instructors will ensure you feel confident and empowered to choose the options that best suit you for each exercise.  Both class options are great for beginners, however, if you would like to start with a slower paced class with a full introduction to the reformer and how it works and to learn all the different ways you can move and groove, we recommend attending a few of our Beginner Reformer classes first.

I’m pregnant, can I attend a class?

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS on this exciting journey!  Secondly, absolutely! Did you know that engaging in exercise during pregnancy (once you've received clearance from your doctor) is among the best things you can do for both yourself and your baby? Research shows a range of benefits associated with staying active during pregnancy, including:

  • Reduced time spent in labour

  • Speedier post-birth recovery

  • Enhanced mental well-being and a decreased likelihood of post-natal depression

We strictly adhere to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Guidelines for exercising during pregnancy, and all our team members are well-trained and experienced in instructing prenatal clients. We continually update our approach in accordance with the latest research in this field. Both our Beginner and Open Level Reformer classes are an excellent fit for expectant mothers at any stage of pregnancy, offering the flexibility to choose your level of challenge based on how your body feels. Alternatively, you can join us for a private or semi-private class with some of your fellow pregnant friends if that's more your preference!

Can I attend classes if I have an existing injury or medical condition?

Reformer Pilates serves as an excellent method for rehabilitating injuries and regaining strength and flexibility. To ensure your comfort and provide tailored modifications during the class, kindly inform our instructors if you have any physical concerns before the session begins.

In the case of acute injuries, it's essential to obtain clearance from your medical or healthcare professional before joining our class.

For those dealing with long-term discomfort or persistent issues, exercise is highly recommended as an effective means of pain management, aligning with global standards.

If you have any additional physical concerns and are unsure whether our classes are suitable for you, please contact our studio.
